The Tussie Mussie - A Wedding Enhancement

The Tussie Mussie - A Wedding Enhancement

Tussie mussies reflect history, tradition, and style – a rare combination.

The history of the tussie mussie dates back to the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). It consists of a metal holder (traditionally, silver or silver-plated) containing a bouquet. During Victorian times, a tussie mussie was a popular gift from a suitor to his lady, and employed the language of flowers to convey his sentiments. It also served a practical purpose since open sewers were just about everywhere in those days.

This Victorian-style bouquet is a very popular wedding accessory. Tussie mussies come in a variety of styles and sizes for the bride’s and her bridesmaids’ bouquets, and some even include a stand to decorate the wedding party table at the reception. Some can be engraved as a personalized bridesmaid gift.
